Last season, high street retailers added ponchos to menswear rage. But the question we all ask is weather such outerwear has ever stayed to be part of a modern man’s wadrobe.
Topman is leading the charge in the championing of this alternative outerwear, with 16 different styles of poncho and cape hitting the shelves this autumn. Rebecca Parker, a personal shopper for the brand, believes that “the cape and poncho trend that we are seeing now has come, really naturally, from the love of similar items over the past couple of years.
River Island and Zara Men have similarly adopted this nouveau knitwear, but the question remains: are these garments genuinely saleable? Could men actually develop a penchant for ponchos, or is this caped caper destined to become just another shameful footnote in our sartorial history books?
In my opinion, these ponchos are trendy and are a must have, i see myself getting 2 or 3 this coming festive season because i believe fashion is about pushing limits.
Take a look.
